A playful klezmer-pop Purim song from RIGLI and JewishSong.org
Purim is the most joyful, playful holiday of the Jewish year: costumes, noisemakers, sweet hamantaschen, and the whole story of brave Queen Esther who saved her people. It is a day made for laughing out loud.
RIGLI captures all of that fun in a bouncy klezmer-pop song that practically asks a room full of children to jump up and dance.
The song celebrates everything kids love about Purim: dressing up, spinning the grogger to drown out the villain's name, and the happy ending of the Purim story. It is part of the world of JEWISH, RIGLI's project for reviving Jewish song for a new century.
Turn on captions in the video above and sing along with the whole class. A printable lyric sheet is coming soon. It will be free to download for your choir or classroom.
